Ilana Weisberg

24/7 Emergency & Critical Care

Dr. Weisberg spent her undergraduate at Scripps College in Claremont, CA studying Organismal Biology with a French literature minor. She spend 6 months living in Madagascar and studying nocturnal lemurs prior to graduation.

While Dr. Weisberg has always wanted to be a veterinarian, she worked with wildlife and zoo animals throughout college and beyond. She spent quite a bit of time working with Arctic species in Alaska and fell in love with zoo medicine. Dr. Weisberg still has a soft spot for unusual species, but while in Alaska started to love the fast-paced environment of working in ER medicine. Throughout veterinary school, she worked on a research project about the ways that veterinary students are taught to communicate with their teams throughout CPR codes. She loved the mountains of Colorado and was excited for a new hiking adventure.

Dr. Weisberg was excited to join to Summit Veterinary Referral Center ER Team in Summer of 2023. She moved back out to the West Coast with her husband and 2 Alaskan adopted dogs- Bandit and Galaxy.

In her free time, Dr. Weisberg can be found hiking, backpacking, and generally enjoying being outside. Galaxy and Dr. Weisberg enjoy exploring local ice cream spots and have ranked all of the vanilla ice cream in each of the places they have lived in for the past 5 years. Bandit loves running at full speed through trees and has a strict bedtime when home. The family loves car camping, adventuring, skiing, hiking, and running around together in the mountains! Dr. Weisberg is also working on her plant collection and her sourdough starter.
