A bit about Dr. Gaytan

Though Dr. Gaytan was initially planning on a career in Forensic Biology, an externship in the human medical field reignited her passion for medicine.  She accepted an internship at the Guide Dogs for the Blind’s veterinary hospital which sparked her passion for veterinary medicine.  She was accepted at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she received her veterinary degree in 2021.  She had fallen in love with the greater Seattle area in college and moved to Washington to begin her career as a veterinarian.   While she initially practiced in a general practice that also offered emergency care, she ultimately joined Summit due to her strong interest in emergency medicine.  She strives to educate owners on the early symptoms of illness such that early intervention is sought before an illness becomes more severe or life-threatening.

When Dr. Gaytan is not at work, she enjoys hiking and traveling with a goal of visiting all of the 63 national parks.  She has shares her home with three cats – Jon Snow, Leonardo DiCatrio, and Wednesday Addams.
